Ethiopiques & Badume’s Band with Mahmoud Ahmed, Alèmayèhu Eshèté and Gétatchèw Mèkurya

Ethiopiques & Badume’s Band with Mahmoud Ahmed, Alèmayèhu Eshèté and Gétatchèw Mèkurya will be one of the surefire highlights at WOMAD festival 24-26 July
 

This all-star line up of Ethiopian veterans features heavyweight vocalists Mahmoud Ahmed and Alèmayèhu Eshèté along with sax giant Gétatchèw Mèkurya. Thanks to The Very Best of Ethiopiques collection drawn from Francis Falceto’s incredible CD series, the music of Ethiopia’s golden age finally got the massive exposure it deserves. We’ll be front row as they conjure up swinging Addis with their hypnotic and impossibly melodic grooves.
