Bhangra heaven comes to the Barbican

Two legendary bhangra groups play on a double bill at the Barbican on 29 November. Alaap and Heera spearheaded the bhangra boom which brought the Punjabi sound bang up to date, reworked in the UK with synths and electric guitars alongside tablas and tumbis. A big big night of bhangra beats. Hosted by BBC London’s DJ Ritu.
