Womad 28–31 July 2011

As summer peeks over the horizon, we’re looking forward to our annual dose of worldwide sounds (and awesome food!) at Womad Charlton Park, all set for 28-31 July 2011. The full line-up has now been announced, here are some of the acts we’re excited about seeing: veteran highlife guitarist Ebo Taylor, sweet acoustic Garifuna vibes with Aurelio, Argentina’s charming electronic cumbia maestro Axel Krygier, legendary Romanian gypsy band Taraf De Haidouks, champion of traditional Reunion maloya music Danyel Waro, Mali meets Cuba all-stars AfroCubism – watch a clip of their spine-tingling live show here and Bomba Estereo – favourites of Colombia’s buzzing electronic scene – watch the Mondomix live clip here.

Hopefully see you at Womad 2011, meanwhile you can savour the flavours with our review of last year’s festival.
