Great opening night !

At the opening night of this year’s Danish Womex we have a grand concert with regional music - The Great Nordic Band. It is a line-up featuring some of the best musicians from Denmark, Sweden and Norway, directed by the young violonist Harald Haugaard. It is a great chance to discover the dynamic tradition of folk virtuosos, some great songwriters such as Rasmus Lyberth or the amazing shamanic joik singing represented here by the most famous saami musician Wimme Saari. It was simply the best start for us to understand exactly where we are.

The dancer who joined them near the end was a very entertaining, phenomenal and energetic acrobat with grace and strenght, he did some moves I never saw in my life... Defenetly a highlight of my evening....oh yeah, and the sound in this room was not bad either :-) Incredible experience!

The opening concert with The Great Nordic Band was great. Will it be broadcast on radio program 2 again? Will it be issued as a CD or DVD?
