Sofrito DJ Chart - Tropical Discoteca

The Sofrito collective, DJs Frankie Francis, Hugo Mendez and The Mighty Crime Minister, started throwing tropical warehouse parties a few years back in Hackney, London. Laying down vinyl dubplates of rare vintage dance tunes from all over the world, their killer sound is hot and heavy and they’ve built a strong following. Armed with super-saturated one-off gems they play Haitian compas, Ghanaian highlife, Puerto Rican plenas, Nigerian funk…and mambo, calypso, cumbia...Sofrito parties don’t groove, they fly. Their New Year’s Eve bash at Passing Clouds is highly recommended.
