Le Jour D’Après / Siku Ya Baadaye (Indépendence Cha-Cha)

Taken from Baloji’s new album Kinshasa Succursale, ‘Le Jour D’Après/Siku Ya Baadaye’ is his version of the 1960 classic independence anthem written by Congolese legend Joseph Kabasele AKA Grand Kallé. Fifty years later, Baloji takes stock, asks questions and brings new force to a song which is a monument in Congolese musical history.
