So Swedish sisters Klara, 16, and Johanna Söderberg, 19, already proved there’s something magically captivating about their harmonies. But it’s the stunning beauty of First Aid Kit’s own compositions on debut album The Big Black and The Blue that shows the rare talent of these teenagers runs very deep. Their stripped down folk-pop has a care-worn, backwoods feel. Don’t expect bucolic ballads though - these tracks pack a surprising punch, anchored in melodies made to floor you and delivered head on.
